What is “apologetics”?

In your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.
— 1 Peter 3:15 NIV

“Apologetics” comes from the term “apologeo” in Koine Greek, which means “to give an answer”. In essence, apologetics is giving an understandable answer with respect and humility regarding the Christian faith. It is our hope for those of you who are still on a journey of finding out more about Jesus, that you would be encouraged to consider that Christianity does not call one to ‘blind faith’, but rather to a rational and credible understanding of reality and God. It is also our desire for those of you who are journeying with Jesus to think deeply about your faith so as to encourage you to both go deeper in Him and to embolden you to share His Good News to those around you.
